How We Build
We only use open-grade base. This is the best way to build at the Jersey Shore.
What We Don't Use
- ✕ Crushed concrete
- ✕ Yellow sand
- ✕ Dirt or soil
- ✕ Cheap fill materials
These hold water and cause pavers to sink and shift.
What We Use
- ✓ 3/4" blue gravel base
- ✓ 3/8" blue gravel bedding
- ✓ Geotextile fabric
- ✓ Proper edge restraint
Water drains through. Pavers stay level for decades.
Why Open-Grade Base Matters
At the Jersey Shore, we have sandy soil and lots of rain. Water needs to drain away fast. Open-grade base lets water flow through. This stops your pavers from moving, sinking, or cracking. It is the only way we build.
